This is the key of the Kingdom,
In that Kingdom there is a City,
In that City there is a Town,
In that Town there is a street,

In that basket there are some flowers.

Это ключи от большого Королевства.
В этом Королевстве есть Город чудесный,
В Городе этом есть чудо-городишко –
Не то, чтобы мал, — но и не велик слишком.
В нём, в городишке, — улица прямая,
В центре её есть лужайка большая,
На этой лужайке мы видим забор,
За ним, за забором, есть маленький двор.
Дом во дворе есть большой и красивый,
В этом-то доме есть комната-диво,
В комнате той, в самом центре, есть стол,
На нём есть корзина, в ней много цветов.

Ключ от королевства
Сегодняшний стишок тоже можно использовать в игре. И игра эта будет полезна не только детям, но и взрослым, так как она хорошо развивает способность запоминать.
В игру играют компанией. Один человек начинает проговаривать стишок с начала. Как только он доходит до слов «Flowers in a basket», каждый из остальных игроков, по очереди, говорит по строчке этого стишка, но повторяют при этом стишок в обратном порядке. Кто сбился — платит фант. В самом конце, как водится, «штрафник» должен исполнить желание.
Вот как звучит этот стишок:

Ужас какой-то. Прям напомнило: в сундуке утка, в утке яйцо, в яйце игла или что-то в этом роде. Так и хочется добавить: в той кровати злая тетенька со стальной рукой-крюком. И вообще, почему в кровати корзина, хотелось бы знать.
Теперь рассмотрим, когда применяется city, а когда town. City можно применить по отношению к большому городу, какому-то центру. К примеру, Москва или Санкт-Петербург — это city, а вот какой-нибудь Гадюкинск — это уже town.
Теперь несколько общих английских фраз для освежения памяти:
Look at the door of the room. — Посмотрите на дверь комнаты.
Look at the picture of a boy. — Посмотрите на изображение мальчика.
The TV set is in a corner of the room. — Телевизор находится в углу комнаты.
The trousers are on a shelf of the wardrobe.
The yellow pencil is in the pencil-box on your desk. — Желтый карандаш в пенале на твоем письменном столе.
The clock on the shelf in my room is right.
Знакомые каждому пословицы, имеющие идентичные и на русском языке:
There is no place like home. — Нет места лучше родного дома.
One man, no man. — Я так понимаю, что у нас это звучит, как «один в поле не воин».
All cats are grey in the night. — Ночью все кошки серые.
Небольшой диалог на английском языке:

Переведем на русский:

Сложно сказать. Можно перевести в данном контексте, типа «Вот тебе.» При этом представляется неприличный жест в сторону просящего, ибо нефиг клянчить чужие карандаши:)
«Спасибо.» Видимо неприличного жеста, все же не было. Вряд ли бы за это еще и поблагодарили:)

irrational and various ways as we sometimes do.
I just want to know you through,

all you’re willing to give for a
